CommunityWeaver - Homepage Community Software

CommunityWeaver is "homepage community" software that allows you to offer fixed amounts of disk space to your members where they can create their own personal homepages. They have access to either of two editors: a point-and-click editor (SiteWeaver) or a plan text editor where they can do their own code (HTMLWeaver). All websites are listed in a public directory.

General

	Create "communities" that act as categories housing your members' webpages.
	Member pages listed in a public Web Directory at your site.
	Two webpage editors are included – SiteWeaver and HTMLWeaver.
	SiteWeaver is a point-and-click editor. Users choose a "theme" (template) and can then edit the components.
	There are over 20 default themes included.
	HTMLWeaver is a text editor that members can use to enter their own HTML code.
	SiteWeaver allows members to use "plugins" to insert additional features into their web pages.

	The number of each plugin allowed is controlled by a member's "privilege group" (see CommunityMembers).

Other Tools

	Members can import sites from other servers.
	Members can upload files en masse from their computer.
	Search engine submission tool included.
	LinkChecker will make sure all links in a webpage work.
	SpellChecker will scan the text of a webpage and make suggestions for misspellings.
	File Manager allows for the moving, copying, editing and deleting of files.

Customization

	All pages are template-driven and can be edited to your liking.
	Add a custom header and footer to all member webpages.
	Different headers/footers can be included based on a member's "privilege group" (see CommunityMembers).
	Create new default "themes", that will act as the basis of your members' webpages.

Websites

	A member's website will appear as a sub-directory of your domain (yoursite.com/community/username/index.html).
	Additional address schemes are possible if you reconfigure Apache:
	yoursite.com/username
	community.yoursite.com/username
	username.yoursite.com
	community.com/username (multiple domains)
	username.com (you are responsible for adding to DNS server)
	Any of the above can be used at the same time to give the user more options.
