Aardvark Publisher Admin
The Aardvark Publisher module is a powerful and highly configurable content management program.
Category Wizard - Independent Main Categories
Each main (top level) category in Aardvark Publisher can be independently configured, with its own submission form, templates and layouts. A 'wizard' in the admin walks you through the process of creating a main category step by step.
Category Wizard - Subcategories
You can create as many subcategories to a parent category as you like - they will all inherit the attributes you assign to the main category. You can select certain subcategories to appear as 'teasers' on the front page.
Category Wizard - Configuring the Submission Form 1
When adding your content pages you will use a submission form. Each main category has its own form, which has some required fields.
Category Wizard - Configuring the Submission Form 2
The submission form will contain whatever fields you assign to it. The program comes with certain fields included and you can create your own as well.
Category Wizard - Setting the Sort Order
You can choose to sort the content pages listed in a category by any field that appears in the submission form.
Category Wizard - Subcategory Layout
The administrator designs the layout of how subcategory names appear in a page. Square bracket tags are replaced by the appropriate data when printed.
Category Wizard - Designing Listing Layouts 1
Your content pages will be listed in different situations (in a category, in search results, as a result of certain plugins, etc). You can control how links to pages are listed in each circumstance using easy to configure layouts.
Category Wizard - Designing Listing Layouts 2
At the top of the layouts page you will have a list of all square bracket tags available - there will be a replacement tag for each field that appears in a category's submission form so that you can insert any data you want and in whatever manner you like.
Category Wizard - All Text is Configurable
Each main category will have certain text messages that appear in different circumstances. These will be pre-filled with defaults which you can leave as is, or change if you like.
Category Wizard - The Article Template 1
The last step of the wizard is the article template - this is what controls how the information you enter into the submission form is then displayed. A default template will always be filled into the form, which you can then edit. You are able to make changes later, and we recommend simply saving the default template rather than editing it right away.
Category Wizard - The Article Template 2
Above the form where you can edit the HTML of the article template you will see a list of plugins - there will be one plugin for each field you have in your submission form for the category. You can use these to display the corresponding data.
Authors & Editors
For each main category you can configure who is able to publish content and can also set up users to help with editing.
Creating New Fields
You can create as many fields you like and then assign them to the submission forms of your categories.
Available Field Types
There are a variety of field types available, including: drop-down menus, text areas, checkboxes, radio buttons, and more.
Text Format Tags
You can create format tags that can be used when publishing articles to add extra formatting to the text.
