BAC Briefcase - File Sharing Software

BAC Briefcase empowers your community members to upload and share files with other site members. Each member can upload files of different types (permitted file types are determined by the administrator), which they can then choose to share.

Administration

	Set which file types can be uploaded (either enter a list of types to allow, or a list of types to block).
	Place a maximum amount of disk space on user accounts.
	Disk space is tied to "privilege group" (see CommunityMembers).
	Maximum number of files to allow is based on "privilege group".
	Maximum file size for individual files based on "privilege group".
	Privilege group based features allow you to charge for better features.
	Create "file type" groups and assign file extensions to these groups (for example .txt and .doc as "Text Files").

User Experience

	Only registered members can upload files.
	Files are uploaded through a simple control panel.
	A member can create folders to store their files.
	Members can delete files and edit the titles and descriptions of their files (used in searches).
	When a user conducts a search, they can specify the file types to look for.

File Sharing

	The way files are shared is based on "privilege group" (see CommunityMembers).
	Allow a member to set a folder as either "public" or "private".
	Only public files will be accessible to other members.
	Make all files uploaded by a member public.
	Make all files uploaded by a member private.
	You could set up one level of membership who can only upload public files, but allow another group the choice of storing their own private files.
